Crucible is based on the product design and manufacturing experience of its two principals, Mike Ayre and Hugh Raymond. Both have been designing products for over twenty years in the UK and Europe and have expertise in all product and manufacturing sectors.
In addition to our immediate team, we have a wide network of specialists that we can call on to assist with particular issues like engineering analysis or electronics. This means that we can bring genuine expertise to each problem and tailor our services to meet your particular needs.
We have completed over 200 projects for individuals, small businesses and international companies. This experience has helped us understand the issues that need to be considered during every project, and has led to the development of our unique Project Specification document.
The range of products we have worked on covers everything from door locks to research instruments; mobile phones to vehicles. These products have involved almost every current manufacturing process, as well as some new ones that are currently being developed. We also have worked with manufacturing suppliers in Europe, Asia and the United States.
Our experience has also convinced us that good management is critical to the success of product development projects, and we support the use of tools such as BS7000 (Managing the design of manufactured products). We are particularly interested in helping our clients develop strong product development teams and supporting collaborative approaches to design and manufacture.
